Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: July 8, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of ScrapeUp's data extraction services, APIs, and related infrastructure (the "Service"). It applies to every account, including free-tier and trial usage. By using the Service you agree to this AUP, and you are responsible for any activity conducted through your account or API credentials.

We built ScrapeUp for legitimate, high-volume data collection. This policy exists to keep the Service reliable and reputable for those customers — not to police lawful work.

1. Permitted Use

The Service is intended for lawful data collection, including but not limited to: monitoring publicly available e-commerce, pricing, and marketplace data; aggregating business listings and public records; collecting search-engine and SERP data; market and competitive research; brand and content monitoring; and building datasets from publicly accessible sources. You are responsible for ensuring your specific use complies with applicable law and any contractual or terms-of-service obligations you have with the sources you target.

2. Prohibited Use

You may not use the Service to:

  • a. Infringe intellectual property. Collect, reproduce, or redistribute copyrighted material — including but not limited to video, audio, images, streaming media, e-books, software, or other protected works — where you do not hold the rights or a valid license to do so, or where the collection facilitates unauthorized access to or distribution of such works. This includes scraping media-piracy, warez, or unauthorized streaming/download sites.
  • b. Break the law. Engage in, facilitate, or support any activity that is illegal under applicable law, including fraud, money laundering, distribution of controlled substances, or any activity that would make ScrapeUp a party to unlawful conduct.
  • c. Access illegal or exploitative content. Collect, process, or transmit child sexual abuse material (CSAM), content that sexually exploits minors, or content that promotes terrorism or violent extremism. This is a zero-tolerance category and will be reported to the appropriate authorities.
  • d. Circumvent security or access controls. Defeat authentication, paywalls, encryption, or access-control measures in a manner that constitutes unauthorized access under applicable computer-fraud law (e.g., the U.S. Computer Fraud and Abuse Act or equivalent). Collecting data behind credentials you are not authorized to use is prohibited.
  • e. Violate privacy and data-protection law. Harvest personal data in violation of applicable privacy regulations (including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and similar), or collect sensitive personal information for purposes such as unlawful surveillance, stalking, doxxing, or discriminatory profiling.
  • f. Enable spam, abuse, or attacks. Support unsolicited bulk messaging, credential stuffing, denial-of-service attacks, vulnerability exploitation, or the distribution of malware.
  • g. Abuse the Service or its infrastructure. Resell or redistribute raw Service access, share credentials across unrelated parties, or generate request volumes or patterns that degrade Service quality, harm the reputation of shared proxy pools, or are designed to evade rate limits, plan tiers, or billing.

3. Target Restrictions and Right to Block

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to restrict, block, or refuse traffic to specific target domains, categories of targets, or request patterns that in our judgment create legal risk, infrastructure risk, reputational risk to shared proxy resources, or a violation of this AUP. We may do so without prior notice. Blocking a target does not entitle you to a refund or credit.

4. Enforcement

Violations of this AUP may result in one or more of the following, applied at our discretion and proportionate to the violation: a warning and request to remediate; throttling or suspension of the affected traffic; suspension or termination of your account; forfeiture of prepaid or credit balances associated with the violating activity; and, where required by law or where the conduct falls under Section 2(c), referral to law enforcement. We are not obligated to provide advance notice where doing so would be impractical, unlawful, or would risk further harm.

Suspension or termination for an AUP violation does not entitle you to a refund of fees or credits.

5. Reporting

To report suspected misuse of the Service, contact abuse@scrapeup.com.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be posted with an updated "Last updated" date, and continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
